Writing better?

I am a English language learner thinking about going to the states and study there. I am having some level of difficulties writing well. I read everything I can( newsletter from NYT, washington post and the Economist), I write a journal, and read many clics novels such as Candide, to kill a mockingbird and many more. I am learning a lot of vocabulary, and I use it as often as possible so that I can retain it and use it properly. It is hard, and is a huge burden for me. It is a daunting task. I have a dream and I want to excel in life. I am facing dilemma everyday and I try to overcome it.
