What is wrong with my throat???!!! It hurts really bad!!!?

It reallyhurts on one side. I have had strep before but it hurts more. I have taken pain relievers an dthey help but i know that i can't take them forever! My throat has hurt for about 5 days now. My tonsil on the right is swollen and it really hurts to swallow or talk!
